Welcome to our journey as Iris Racing! It began with a simple idea: to design, manufacture, and race miniature cars in order to win. Join us as we share our story and the exciting adventures we undertake in the pursuit of excellence in racing.
STEM Education focus
We are committed to promoting STEM education through hands-on experiences in engineering and technology. Our goal is to promote STEM subjects and opportunities to younger students to inspire them as they progress further in education.
Empowering young women
As a primarily female-led team, Iris Racing aims to inspire young women to pursue careers in STEM fields. We believe in equal opportunities and encourage all students to get involved, regardless of their background.

March & April
At the start of March, we were first given the opportunity to start our STEM Racing team. During the next two months, we set up lots of admin, such as the Just Giving account and social medias. We started contacting potential sponsors, filming content and discovered as a team what we stood for as Iris Racing.
At this point, we started researching car designs, how to manufacture, how to use the CAD software and potential fundraiser ideas. In June, we gained our first sponsors - F1 bearings - and we recieved a generous £100 donation. This is also when we started developing the website you are on right now.
May &
June
July & August
In these two months, we have prepared for a fundraiser for when we return to school, in which we will promote STEM to the younger students. We have also made progress on the car and have been designing it through the CAD software. We are also continually reaching out to potential sponsors.
After many barriers in planning our fundraiser, we are finally going to host a quiz night at the start of November. We have made big progress on the car, formed a plan for manufacturing, and have started to design uniforms and our pit display. We have also gained two incredible sponsors, Ebmpapst and Bridge Academy Trust.
